Nancy Hertz Just, 45, of Indianapolis, Ind. went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 17 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born April 18, 1972 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Joel and Ann Hertz and moved with her family to Monticello, Ill. at age 9.  She graduated from Monticello High School in 1990.

Nancy earned a Bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. While at Iowa State, Nancy’s faith in Christ was ultimately deepened and she became passionate about sharing her faith with others, leading her to serve full-time ministering to students through Youth for Christ in Champaign, Ill.

On May 16, 1998 Nancy married Glen Just in a ceremony at Allerton Park in Monticello, Ill. and joined him on the staff of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). She ministered to college students at Miami University in Ohio, in Leiden, Netherlands, and at Butler University, as well as countless others. Her impact reached around the world as she helped send and encourage teams of overseas missionaries. Nancy lived her life and faith out loud and didn’t hide her struggles, whether speaking to a large group, having coffee with a friend, or meeting someone for the first time.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Glen, of Indianapolis, and their 4 children Tobin (13), Caroline (11), Camden (8), and Maren (6). She is also survived by her mother, Ann Hertz, of Monticello, Ill., her brother and sister-in-law, Chad and Heidi Hertz, and their four children of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and her sister, Karen Hertz, of Paris, France. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Joel Hertz.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm Friday, August 11 and a memorial service at 10:30 am on Saturday, August 12. Both will be at College Park Church, 2606 W. 96th Street, Indianapolis. Burial will be in Nevada, Iowa at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Cru, 100 Lake Hart Drive, Orlando, FL 32832, with 2777211 on the memo line or online at give.cru.org/2777211.
